Boats and Hoes
A little while ago I went to a friends dress up party that was themed "boats and hoes." I cannot remember the last time I got to dress up as a pirate so I decided I would go as a pirate! It was a no brainer decision! The only problem was that I didn't have a pirate costume... and I didn't want to spend $50-75 buying my costume... I also had no time left to order it online from websites such as ebay.
So I made an executive decision that I would make my costume... having dabbled in sewing classes as high school for one semester I knew that this was mostly going to outcome in an epic failure... sewing and making clothes was NOT and still is NOT my strong point.
Anyway, I ended up going to Lincraft, knowing nothing about choosing fabric, and walking out with some scrap black and red material. When I got home I managed to cut and tear up the following:
--Skirt
--Vest
--Pirate bandaner
-- Pirate sword holder for my leg
-- Red pirate belt and sash
I was suuuuper happy with end result! I was a complete success! The success was definitely topped off when I applied some personalised pirate designs onto my costume to say "Pirate Bec."

Velflex Sticker Labels
Sometimes I believe that I work on a very diverse range of creative mediums... just to mix things up I designed up the sticker labels to go on every single roll of vinyl sent out to garment and printing companies around Australia. These stickers were made in a way that could be easily read and the option between half metre and metre long rolls could be indicated by simply crossing out the size/weight indicated on the label. This is pretty straight forward. I made about 8 different product stickers with the same layout as in the photos below. Its pretty cool knowing my label is being sent all around Australia, just sitting on the shelves of factories ready to be selected to be opened!
Yeah Dawgs!
So my friends decided they wanted to travel around Australia a bit, escape the winter and road trip it all up the east coast of Australia along the sunny coasts of Queensland. Although I wasn't apart of the trip I still felt like I was there almost ever step of the way after all the great stories I was told when they got back. One of the saying they adopted along the way was "Yeah Dawgs"... which is like saying "Yeah Dogs" but with emphasis on the awg in dawg. Anyway I decided to gift my friends a souvenir to remember their trip, which was personalised singlets with their most common trip quote/sayings. When I gave them their shirts they were soooo excited jumping up and down and throwing the singlets on in an instant! I was so ecstatic to see how excited they were to have their own personalised singlets! They even had their nick names on their shirts which were utilised throughout their trip. Just to top of their personalised shirts I put "I love it" on the back, which is a common and contagious saying that "Tank" always said. I hope these singlets will flood back all the great memories and experiences they had and shared on their trip around Australia.
I can cook! Finally!
Over the weekend I decided I would cook up a storm for my mum and dad. If you know me, this is completely out of character for me as I do not cook... at all.. well other than toast and scrambled eggs that is! :P So I decided to cook them a prawn and pasta dish that had fresh asparagus, roma tomatoes, basil, white wine and garlic all mixed in together. I was worried it would be an epic failure, but to my pleasure it was a complete success! My parents ate the entire meal on their plate! I was so proud of my efforts that I thought I would post my creations on my blog... because after all this is a creative design of food and flavour!
Get Involved #2
So as promised I was going to get a shirt done up that has my "Get involved" design it... AND as promised I did! Yayyyyy! Here is a photo of my brand new singlet top with "get involved" on it. Hope you like it!
Wedding Invitation
Last year I did a little freelance job of making some wedding invitations... the wedding was being held in a vineyard so my client was after a vineyard appeal. My client also LOVED words... and lots of them! As you can see... This job was pretty straight forward and I had a lot of fun with it. This is what I came up with:

So my saying for "Get Involved" continues... Here is a design a whipped up over the weekend. I am printing a black and white version which I will be putting on a shirt or hoodie soon... so keep posted to see the final results! I hope you like it!
Get Involved!
I made this shirt for Lil yesterday - it says "GET INVOLVED!" This is a saying/quote that my travel friends and I always say when we are egging others on to... well... get involved! I guess it can be used in so many ways, but it basically translates to get amongst it, carpe diem, step up, have a drink, enjoy yourself, etc.

Nudie - Practice Goodism
Last year whilst at an Advertising/Design agency I made this little motion graphics for the company "Nudie." The intention of this video was to go on their website and to show all the different ways to "Practice Goodism" or simply put... "be good." Ideally there was to be new video released on a regular basis to show how to practice goodism by drinking Nudie. It was also to help highlight the fun and yummy appeal and image of Nudie juice.

Unleash the travel bug within! CONTIKI
My aim was to launch a new advertising campaign to promote the tours offered by Contiki. I wanted to keep true to Contiki's core values, but try a different design approach rather than what they currently mix and match on their website and annual magazines. My work was selected to represent and promote the faculty of design for 2010 at the University of Wollongong. These designs were also published in "Art and Design Education Resource Guide 2010," a 240 page comprehensive guide to art and design courses available at universities, TAFE Colleges and private schools in Australia. Lanyards
These are lanyards that you get given to wear whilst travel. When traveling you have to keep certain emergency numbers on you for such things as your tour guide and places your staying at... when I was on tour I found it hard to keep my documents in one place and in tact for that matter! I thought this would be a great idea to go underneath your clothing when traveling in case of an emergency. You can be discrete with a lanyard under your jacket or jumper... or you can have it out loose so that people know your part of the group.
Bus Branding
I thought I would also show how these designs and branding could also be versatile enough for the bus branding. Also, when people see the Contiki bus's roaming around the cities and countries it is highlighting and advertising its services.

This is a birds eye view of an inverted snowman. This has no context... I was just bored and whipped this together. I think it is funny though because this is what I see in this image... but what do YOU see? Maybe a fat lady blowing you a kiss from the ground as you look off your 3 story balcony floor?
